At Friendly Fires Getaway, we host many different groups, couples, families, etc! We enjoy seeing groups of all kinds and love the fact that each person/group will have their own personal experience on our property. One of our favorites to host are couples! The cottage is fully equipped to assist you in creating the perfect romantic getaway, from the sauna and hot tub to the simple nature of our beautiful landscaping. • Candle-lit dinner

 

A simple change in atmosphere can completely rewrite the vibe of a moment. What would normally be a mundane “chore” of eating dinner could be so much more. Light some candles, put on your favorite tunes, and take the time to talk with your partner over an awesome meal - and you’ve got the perfect way to rejuvenate your usual date night. 

 

 

2. Make Dinner Together

 

You could even go one step further and make that meal yourself. As stated in our previous blog, studies have shown that the act of cooking/preparing food together has many benefits for all parties involved. It creates a feeling of togetherness, quality time, and allows the two of you to work together towards a common goal - the finished meal. Take your time with this one and allow yourself to experience this date stress-free. You could even assign roles in regards to preparing certain parts of the meal to assure there is none of that bumping into each other and getting in each other's way!

 

 

3. Game Night

 

Okay, Okay, I get it, you’re not a kid anymore. But hear me out! There’s nothing quite like being a kid again. Here at the cottage we’ve got lots of games for you and your partner to enjoy. Throw a blanket on the floor and forget your worries as you and your loved one appreciate a good board game. We promise, it’ll be more fun than you think!

 

 

4. Read Together

 

Read? Seriously? Snore! I know that’s what you’re thinking. But whether you’re an avid reader or not, you have to admit that it can be pretty relaxing. Snuggle up together on the couch or in bed while one of you reads aloud. This is actually an older date style dating back to the early 19th century. It worked back then, so why can’t it work now! So when you’re packing for your getaway, don’t forget your favorite book!

 

 

 

5. Campfire/Marshmallow Roast

 

There’s never a bad time to roast marshmallows! Sit out by our fire pit and enjoy some smores. Snuggling up by the fire with some cozy blankets may be the most simple and beautiful date night there is, you truly can’t go wrong.
